Miracle of Miracles

On Sunday I decided to do some housekeeping and start gathering my thoughts, resources, and recommendations to prepare for grad school applications. Being the organized girl that I am, I had my teachers write recommendations for me before I graduated in '05 because I knew how difficult it would be to track down teachers and jog their memories to write me a rec. However, this plan fell through. It turns out that in an effort to keep the recommendations safe by storing them at my parents house they got lost in the shuffle. I guess moving every year will do that. Needless to say this revelation inspired dread and slight panic deep within my heart. Discouraged, I set out to find the few teachers that I asked to see if maybe, just maybe they had an extra copy, file, etc. that they may be able to provide me. I emailed the department, tracked down my TA and emailed her, and waited.

When I opened my email two days later, there was a note from my professor. I WAS THRILLED!!!! She remembered me! What a relief! And although she didn't have an extra copy she offered to write a new one, sending it in email and hard copy in 3 days. What a fantastic lady. She completely renewed my hopes that this whole grad school thing was going to work after all and that doom was not going to prevail.
