A Woman With Many Gifts

Ok, so lately I have been kind of telling people that I got them a present but by present I don't mean an object. I mean a laugh or memory. It's kind of fun and makes for a funny story.

For example, I told Dave, Miriam, and Ben (and probably others) that when I was in kindergarten I used to have a really special rad flourescent orange, pink, yellow and white tye-dye bathing suit that was a little top tied on the sides to the bottoms and left my huge kid belly exposed. I thought that suit was the coolest thing ever. I coveted that thing and my mom new it so she taught me a lesson by making that suit a reward. Everytime I would behave well for the week and do special tasks, she would put some moola toward the suit (at Marshalls on layaway) until the suit was paid for and I finally got to wear it. Hurrah! I rocked that thing with a high side ponytail until it was pretty much warn through.

So when I got to Old Navy two weeks ago and saw a cut out one piece, or as Jordan told me (Miss Suit Authority who works at "Everything but Water") it's a monokini, I was thrilled. I promised Dave that he was getting a present and I think he thought it was actually an item for him. This suit was perfect! It reminded me of the awesomeness that was my coolest bathing suit ever. It was kind of like this one below except brown with a silver ring on the shoulder.

Apart monokini

Needless to say this gave both Dave and I a huge laugh about this "present" so I decided to make this a new theme in my gift giving. It is an exaggeration on the premise that gift giving is more than the actual giving of something tangible and I quite like it. I may be giving you a laugh or a smile or a fond memory sometime soon. Get ready!

Haha. Holy leotards...that's something I'd like to see. I think some girl up North will be more than happy to fulfill that request.
